Little Luther Linden

These are our good friends and old neighbors at our first home here in St. Louis. We met the Ciorba's when Calvin was two (I think!) and I have fond memories of walking the block when Katie was trying to get David to go into labor. One very warm summer when the power went out (for days) we joined forces and grilled every piece of meat we all had in our freezer. Quite the feast! Matt and Katie helped us to stay humorous about our neighborhood :) and we can all share crazy stories and have a good laugh... mostly :) In fact, when our home was on the market they let us toss our dogs in their house many, many, many, times. So naturally, I was honored when Katie called for photographs of their Little Luther Linden.

I am very much in love with this session because I feel like the emotions were captured. I love this first picture even though it is not everyone smiling and looking at the camera, it is each boy together, snuggling and happy. I can see the brotherly love already forming. I went back to the house and did a mini session with Katie and Luther. The bond between a mother and child is the purest form of love I know. The photographs of Katie and her last little man show that love and bond I wanted to portray. Thank you Ciorba's for the opportunity to document this special time in your family's life. We look forward to many more years of friendship.

I knew I was going to love this photograph when I took it, seeing it in bw makes it even more amazing then I had hoped!
